Simply Home Walking into the Simply Home department gives a sense of calm and relaxation, perfect for browsing some of the new collections for this season. Tina, the department head and buyer for Simply Home has added a touch of glamour to the floor by introducing the African Plains vases, tea light candle holders and ornamental balls to the shelves. With a carefully crafted design, these vases and ornaments are unique in style and will have any guest admiring them in a home. The black and chrome carriage clocks that are now in Simply Home sit well with the collection of cushions and ornaments for around the house. A vast and wide selection can be found in a multitude of materials, designs, shapes and sizes. Bedding & Linens A full selection of bedding, bed care, bathroom, linens and table decorations is available throughout the basement linens area. The Kingsley Lucerne duvet set that arrived last season has been reinstated for this spring summer due to the demand from customers. And, with it being Harveys of Halifax 60th Anniversary year the added element of diamantes that adorn the bedding and towels, the sit perfectly around the store for our diamond year. A number of brand new linens have been added this season in an array of colours from purples and greens to sultry backs. New ranges include the Abigail, Emnett, Reno, Capri and Bali. All, perfect for a revamp in the bedroom. Some of this collection have co-ordinating throws and cushions. Towels for 2011 have moved into the spring and summer colours of pastel golds, greens, aqua’s and turquoise by both First Avenue and Christy. Hilary, the Linens department head buyer is always on hand to offer advice on sizing, cottons versus manmade fabrics and there isn’t a question she can’t answer on what type of pillow suits what type of person. Do ask any of the team for assistance, as they’ll be sure to help. Cookshop The head buyer from the Cookshop, Jackie has made sure that this season the store holds more new brands than ever before. With Yong’s Tagines in red, blue, purple and mixed tones sitting alongside Salter’s weighing scales there’s a real mix of colours and designs to take onboard this spring summer. The new collections from Molten, Miniamo, Moneta and Joseph Joseph bring a welcome relief to kitchen cooking equipment and utensils through a range of colours, designs and lightweight styles. Joseph Joseph has introduced an element of contemporary designs to fit with the practical needs of the kitchen. A range of bread bins with bread board chopping lids is a perfect example to their outstanding selection. There are salad bowls with hands, smashers and grinders, chopping boards and measuring jugs/spoons and all are vibrant in their colour range from blues and pinks to purples and greens with the odd yellow and red thrown in for good measure – a stunning range of kitchenware. This year a new design ‘Cool Britannia’ has been added to the department, to add a little British to the store. It sits perfectly for both the Royal Wedding this year and the 60th Anniversary for Harveys of Halifax. Advice can be given for anything kitchen related, just ask one of the team.
