Each season the Cosmetics and Fragrance Hall evokes a stunning scent, whether it be from the new fine fragrances, the old favourites or the young up and coming scents around the department, but wither way you know you’re shopping at Harveys. The department manager Heather has been at the forefront of fragrances for many years at the store and she can answer every question posed at her regarding scents, fragrance designers, bottle shapes and even which decade the scent was first launched. This spring and summer Heather is enjoying the new arrivals from Jimmy Choo, Cartier De Lune and Bleu de Chanel, all scents to liven the senses. Jimmy Choo with top notes of pear nectar and sweet Italian orange sit with heart notes of tiger orchid and the base notes of toffee and Indonesian patchouli. This is Harveys of Halifax newest and most sought after perfume of 2011 so far. Cartier De Lune is a quietly understated bottle, which sits perfectly inline with the Cartier brand. With a subtle violet thread, the scent will have you thinking of your childhood. It’s a rare and delicate sensation, a floral caress suffused with freshness. The men’s aftershave Bleu de Chanel has been eagerly anticipated for such a long time is now instore. Your man will smell as dreamy as you always knew he could! A man’s bottle, with a strong inkling towards ‘strength and being in command’ this aftershave does all the talking, it’s wonderful. Moving into cosmetics and away from the fragrance collection, Dr Kadir is still riding high with customers. It continues to push the boundaries of skin care with the ultra magnificent range from Matrix. The Matrix range includes nourishing cream, moisturizing cream, serum and the outstanding Gold Mask, as used by celebrities in London and Hollywood. The cosmetic houses Lancôme, Dior, Clinique, Estee Lauder and Clarins have some of this year’s most beautiful shades and scents to boast about. Lancôme’s ‘La Base Pro’ continues seamlessly into 2011 as ‘the’ only makeup primer worth having. Tient miracle natural light creator leaves skin looking untouched even though this foundation is a base. Hypnose Senses by Lancôme, the spring summer fragrance is a light yet heady scent that works morning, noon and night. Ultra Lavande is the new collection by Aaron De Mey with beautiful purple, lilac and lavender hues. Fill collections of blusher, shadow, lipstick, gloss and nail varnish are all at the Lancôme counter instore today. Estee Lauder’s Lasting Crème, Lasting Shimmer, Crystal Shimmer ad Crystal Crème Lipsticks are coveted all around the world, and the brand new vision in colour by Tom Pecheux, Creative Director Estee Lauder has designed these seductive spectrums of shades, from sublime to vivid. Prices start at £14 for nail varnish, £15.50 for lip-gloss and £18 for the lipstick of the season. Pleasures Delight, Bloom and Intense are three stunning fragrances by Estee Lauder, perfect for the 2011 spring and summer season. Dior still boast that the ‘Backstage Experts’ range continues to be string this season, with the moisturizing, perfecting and anti-aging collections flying off the Harveys counters. The bold blacks and daring darks are colours not usually seen in spring or summer, but they work and they work extremely well. Clinique is about the launch the Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer SPF15. It’s an all-day hydration moisturizer with a splash of colour. It’s appropriate for all skin types and provides a hint of skin perfecting colour with just enough coverage to make the appearance of imperfections disappear, proving a naturally pretty look. Milly for Clinique 2001/Pretty in Prints offers a stunning compact, long lasting lip-gloss and bottom lash mascara - all of which are extremely sought after this season. And, Clinique ‘Happy in Bloom’ spray is only £23 for 30ml this season. A wonderful addition to your collection. Clarins, the famous red and white super cosmetic brand has one of the most calming ranges this season with Neo Pastels Makeup collection. The selection builds with eyeshadows and liner pallets to the rouge hydra nude smoothing cream lipsticks and wonder volume mascara. The Instant smooth line correcting concentrate and illuminating cheek colours in six pastel shades, this spring and summer evoke many memories from the past. Another of Clarins seasonal offerings is the Colour Quench Lip Balm Long-Lasting Moisture and Shine with eight in the colour range, each at £15. And this year Clarins hosts a limited edition Mosaique Summer Bronzer – so don’t miss out.
